Notes
Brooks/Rust associates two different artists with the recording sessions that include this master number. However it is not known whether one of them, or a different artist, is responsible for the recordings that are unattributed here.
Brooks/Rust notes that the whistling on the Johnson versions is by Johnson himself while the whistling on the Murray version (take 9) sounds like Joe Belmont.
The Discography of American Historical Recordings aims to comprehensively document the history of early commercial sound recordings. Objectionable and racist content does not reflect the values of the University or its staff. Further information is available here.
