Source(s): Victor ledgers. |
Victor ledgers for 9/5/1925 show two "trial" (audition) recordings by Emily Stokes Hagar: "Three little fairy songs" and "Alleluia." The ledgers show that the former was later accepted and assigned the serial number BVE-33988. EDVR legacy data identify both BVE-33988 and BVE-33989 as trial recordings that were later numbered, but show the second title as "Sing me to sleep." It is thought that the second trial recording was retitled at the time of renumbering, although confirmation of this has not been found in Victor ledgers. |
