Victor ledgers (takes 4R and 5R): “Outside-in 78-rpm”; "Re-recorded from lacquer for Mr. Adams of Indianapolis, Ind."; "[4R and 5R] were NOT re-recorded from Vitrolac pressings 24755-B but were re-recorded from lacquer which was re-recorded in Indianapolis. The reason for this is as follows. The groove shape of the Vitrolac pressing was not standard[,] distorted due to plating conditions therefore it was necessary to re-record this Vitrolac pressing with a playback styli which would fit this distorted groove (we were told the groove had a bottom radius of three mills instead of the standard 2.5 mil. radius). Indianapolis re-recorded using playback styli of 3 mil. radius, to a lacquer which was cut with the standard recording styli.” |
